brief.

McCabes is a Sydney based law firm with over 20 years experience. Previously known as McCabeTerrill, the formal affiliation has ceased to exist and McCabes is now looking to present an energetic, professional, stylish, modern and fresh persona.

Previous branding incorporated a classic font with a conservative blue colour palette, which McCabes were keen to move away from.

With clientele in all areas of business, the firm is known for providing high quality and timely advice and striving to meet their client’s requirements in an assertive and pragmatic manner.

As a more flexible organisation, than many larger national firms, they can offer:

  • Quality legal services delivered at reasonable rates
  • Direct access to the firm’s principals
  • A collaborative approach

Feedback confirms that clients find McCabes to be easy to work with, quality conscious lawyers, who are passionate about their work and highly motivated.

solution.

In order to take the board on a journey, which was essential to ensure buy-in, we worked closely with the McCabes team involving them at key milestones during the project. Moodboards established key considerations of the brand and once a direction was chosen, created a strong foundation to refer back to throughout the decision making process.

We explored both a significant change to the logomark and colour palette, alongside more evolutionary developments of the McCabeTerrill brand into McCabes. We are delighted to say that the firm decided on a progressive colour palette of 5 bright colours, set against a charcoal background. This high contrast approach immediately establishes an energetic feel to the brand, with a stylish, modern edge.

A classic font has been retained to convey the heritage of the brand, while the design treatment of the a and b within the logomark freshens the overall look of the font. Each of the five colours can be used at random through printed collateral and the website, again reinforcimg the energetic, flexible, nature of the firm.

Response from the board was extremely positive, appreciating the value of a brand refresh and embracing the new direction.
